Recent Status: A local wetland species in Suffolk.
Life Style: A single brooded species that comes to light from May to September. The larvae feed in the stem of Mentha aquatic and Lycopus species. They overwinter fully fed and pupate in a cocoon in the stem.
Identification: A well marked member of the Cochylini with a dark broad oblique central band. In 2012 the species was found to include a second species P. udana. This has now been recorded in Suffolk. P. udana has the central band narrowing on the costa and lacks darker markings apically that often show darker veins or reticulation in P. manniana.
